Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he's continuing talks with Sol Campbell over a new contract.
Defensive options remain a concern with Arsenal hopeful that Campbell will agree a one-year contract.
"There is no news on a defensive signing but numbers wise we are short in defence," said Wenger.
"The situation is still open for Sol Campbell and for the rest we are still looking."
Centre half Laurent Koscielny has already arrived from Lorient, but Mikael Silvestre and William Gallas are set to join new clubs after failing to agree new contracts.
