Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has dismissed claims that he sparked the death threats sent to Birmingham City defender Martin Taylor after last week's horror clash with Eduardo da Silva.

An angry Wenger replied: "Are you sure? Yes, I'm responsible for everything in this country.

"How much unemployment have you? I'm responsible for that as well.

"I said what I said in the heat of the moment and I took responsibility to retract it. But I am not taking responsibility for idiotic people who send death threats."
