Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger isn't always receptive to the recommendations of chief scout Steve Rowley, it has been revealed.

The Daily Express says Rowley recommended Gary Cahill (Chelsea) and Phil Jagielka (Everton) before Wenger signed Per Mertesacker.

It would be beneficial if the manager listened to his top talent spotter, who also highlighted Scott Parker (Tottenham) and Lukas Podolski (FC Cologne).
