Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he came close to selling goalkeeper Vito Mannone.
He looked doomed after an appalling Champions League show against Olympiakos in December.
Wenger said: "I was surprised no club went for him, I would have let him go. But I always give him a chance again. As for being No 1, never rule that out."
