Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he considered signing Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

Cabaye was rumoured to be subject of a bid from the Gunners when he was at Newcastle in 2013.

“Yohan Cabaye is a good player," he said. “We were interested in him when he was at Newcastle.

“Cabaye is a good passer of the ball.

“But Crystal Palace have a big squad and good players."
