Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he would've preferred to have sold Robin van Persie to a foreign club.
Van Persie scored his first goal for Manchester United in victory over Fulham on Saturday.
"We didn't want the transfer happen, but could not prevent it," confessed Wenger to TF1.
"To be honest, I preferred he was sold to a foreign club, for example, Paris Saint-Germain. Rather than Manchester United. They have the advantage that they have played against him and know how good he is. Van Persie is truly an exceptional player, in every sense of the word."
