Arsenal boss Wenger hopeful on Coquelin injury

Francis Coquelin is in doubt for Arsenal's Capital One Cup meeting with Tottenham on Wednesday night.

The French midfielder was subbed off at half-time of Saturday's Premier League loss to Chelsea with a knee problem.

Regarding Coquelin's availability for the third round league cup clash with North London rivals Spurs, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was remaining positive but realistic.

"His knee is swollen and he is being assessed, but we hope it is just a short term problem," he told Arsenal Player.

It appears unlikely that Coquelin will take his place in the Arsenal squad for the Spurs meeting but could be back in action for Saturday's trip to in-form Leicester City.
