Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Roy Hodgson is the right choice for England.
Hodgson has pedigree as an international manager - he guided Switzerland to the European Championship in 1996 - and Wenger is an admirer of the 64-year-old.
"I have always consistently come out and said there should be an English manager and Roy Hodgson is a good choice," he told Arsenal Player.
"He is experienced, he has worked with national teams before and what is important for me is that he has the experience of big choices. This choice does not defy logic.
"I think for him, he is at the stage of his career where it is an interesting choice because he can finish his career with a national team. If he is successful, everyone will be happy in England."
