Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Thierry Henry was hurt not winning the Ballon d'Or during his career.

Wenger feels the Frenchman did deserve the gong while he was with Arsenal.

He told arsenal.com: "It did hurt him. First of all he knew himself that he deserved it, and I believe 100 per cent that he deserved it too. It was not justified at all that he didn't win it. At that time it was still the France Football Ballon d'Or so perhaps they were a bit harsher with the French players than anybody else!"
