Arsenal boss Wenger has sympathy for Lee

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he feels for Sammy Lee after his departure from Bolton Wanderers this week.

Wenger said: "I rate Sammy Lee. He is a football man, he knows the job, he is an intelligent man and he did not have much time.

"There's always a period in life when players feel powerful inside the club. It is not their job to decide who the manager is. That is the job of the board and the chairman.

"If you sack your manager every eight weeks you go nowhere. You need technical stability to be successful."
