Arsenal boss Wenger has no doubts Cesc is targeted

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has no doubts opposition teams are targeting captain Cesc Fabregas.

For this week's Champions League return-leg, Porto’s best chance might be to shackle Fabregas – and Wenger is aware that his Spanish midfielder is the side’s talisman.

But he said: “The whole of our team holds the key. We don’t have one player who will score all our goals. The key will be to defend well as a team.

“Some of our opponents ­target Fabregas and they are not punished enough.

“You have to provide the best spectacle. I am not paranoid and I do not want to play the victim. But we try to play fairly and we have done a lot for the way the Premier League is loved and respected all over the world.

“The values we defend in the game are loved all over the world.

“What people do to and against us is down to the referees and the teams involved. But we try to play fair and we will continue to do that.”
