Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is happy for Robert Pires over his move to Aston Villa.
Seven days ago Pires joined this weekend's opponents Aston Villa on a six-month deal after spending a few weeks training with the Arsenal first team to maintain his fitness. After taking a close look at him the Arsenal manager feels Pires still has plenty to offer at the highest level.
"He is the type of player who can help any team in the Premier League," Wenger told arsenal.com. "Just at that age it is important you use him well at the right moment.
"No [I am not surprised at his move] because I saw what he has been doing in training. I am not surprised that Gerard Houllier thought about him."
