Arsenal boss Wenger handed new headache as Van Persie, Walcott consider options

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is facing a dilemma this week with two more stars unsettled. The Daily Express says there are forthcoming problems developing over the futures of Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott for Wenger and the Arsenal board to consider.

Both have two years remaining on their contracts and, while neither have received a firm offer of a new deal, it is unlikely either player would agree to commit their future to the Gunners in the current state of flux.

Chelsea made a very tentative enquiry about the possibility of signing Walcott at the start of the transfer window, but were not given enough encouragement to follow up their interest.

But rival clubs are now fully aware that Van Persie and Walcott could soon become available and are watching the situation carefully.
