Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was delighted for Thomas Vermaelen after his victorious homecoming last night.
Vermaelen helped Arsenal to a courageous 3-2 win at Standard Liege in last night 's Champions League clash and Wenger said: "He had an outstanding performance.
"He has adapted very well and very quickly, once again he has scored, defended well and was strong in the air."
