Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger publicly thanked fullback Kieran Gibbs for his £20 million tackle in their 3-2 win over West Bromwich Albion.
The three points saw the Gunners finish in the third place and qualify for next season's Champions League.
A sensational blocking tackle by sub Gibbs saved the day as Arsenal qualified for the Champions' League for the 15th consecutive season under the Frenchman.
Wenger said: "Gibbs came on, deserves huge credit for his tackle.
"We suffered on that flank and when he came on he won headers, won tackles and got us out of tough situations. We've qualified 15 times for the Champions League and only three other clubs have done that."
