Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit of Le Mans midfielder Mathieu Coutadeur.

France Football says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has made Coutadeur's minders aware of their interest as he opens new contract talks with Le Mans.

Hoffenheim, Stuttgart and Wolfsburg are also keen, but Wenger's reputation for working with French players has turned Coutadeur's head.
