Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been encouraged in his pursuit of FC Cologne striker Lukas Podolski.
The Daily Mail says the Germany international has asked for more time before his contract situation is discussed again.
The Cologne star, who ruled out joining Arsene Wenger's side during the January transfer window, held talks with his current club over extending his contract which has 18 months to run.
But although Cologne said talks took place 'in a positive and constructive atmosphere', Podolski's request for more time could tempt Wenger into renewing his interest in the £15million star.
