Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is furious with England coach Roy Hodgson over his treatment of Jack Wilshere.

Wenger believes Hodgson went back on an understanding not to play Wilshere for the full 90 minutes of England's midweek win over Brazil.

The midfielder was crocked yesterday at Sunderland. And an Emirates insider revealed to The Sun: "Arsene is livid.

"He was led to believe Wilshere would not play the full 90 minutes.

"But that is exactly what happened and then he breaks down at Sunderland.

"Jack only returned in October after being sidelined for 18 months, so we have to be careful with him.

"Arsene feels the fact he was over-used for England contributed to his injury at the Stadium of Light."
