Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has praised Steve Clarke ahead of their clash with West Bromwich Albion.

Despite two defeats last week, the fifth-placed Baggies have impressed this season under Steve Clarke, who has made a solid start to his managerial career.

Wenger said: "The most important thing is to be in touch with the top, top level to see what is requested.

"Steve Clarke has done that for a long time, so he shows now that he is ready for the job."
