Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was not feeling too positive regarding the injury sustained by Mathieu Debuchy in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Manchester City.
The French right-back, who joined the Gunners from Newcastle United this summer, fell awkwardly during the second half of the entertaining clash at the Emirates Stadium and required a stretcher to leave the pitch.
The incident appeared innocuous but forced Debuchy to writhe in agony on the Emirates turf prompting the following words from a worried Wenger.
"Debuchy has a badly sprained ankle," said Wenger. "How long will he be out? I don't know, but it doesn't look good.
"People told me they need a bit more time to assess how long he will be out but it's a bad ankle sprain."
