Arsenal boss Wenger facing linesman nemesis for Wolves clash

Arsenal are upset with the Premier League ahead of their weekend clash with Wolves.

The Daily Mail says the Premier League have angered Arsenal by appointing Phil Sharp as an assistant referee for Saturday's match against Wolves.

The Gunners regard the appointment as provocative because boss Arsene Wenger was involved in a bust-up with Sharp 11 days ago.

Sharp was running a line in Arsenal's last home game against West Ham when he flagged for a penalty. Referee Martin Atkinson upheld the decision and sent off Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen.

An incensed Wenger waited for the officials at half-time and carried on his rant as the teams emerged for the second half.
