Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitted at yesterday's AGM he's still against overseas tours.
The Gunners board are convinced they're missing out on a massive revenue stream by not taking Wenger's squad to other parts of the globe for preseason.
But Wenger said: "It is not a proper way to prepare players, especially when you play in a Champions League qualifier so early in the season. If you are not ready, then you go out of Europe and the cost of that is much more than you make on a tour.
"And with internationals coming back late for pre-season after a World Cup or European Championships, you cheat people because you cannot travel with the names people expect you to bring. I prefer the alternative of the Emirates Cup at home. They are two fantastic days in a relaxed atmosphere."
