Wenger sees the Pole as a replacement for wantaway goalkeeper David Ospina.
The Sun says should Arsenal be unsuccessful in their to bring back the resurgent Polish stopper, Wenger would need to either look elsewhere or promote Emiliano Martinez to No2.
The Gunners paid £3.2m to sign Ospina - who still has two years on his contract - from Nice in 2014.
But the club are unlikely to stand in his way and are now seemingly open to offers.
