Arsenal boss Wenger: Double Cup shocks last season were worst of career

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits his team's two Cup shockers last season still burn.

Arsenal lost on penalties to League Two side Bradford City at Valley Parade in the Capital One Cup last December, before crashing out of the FA Cup at home to the Championship's Blackburn Rovers.

Before those shock exits, the Gunners held an impressive record of never going out of a competition to lower league opposition with Wenger in charge.

"I was very proud of that record," Wenger said. "The unexpected defeats are the most difficult to take.

"Every year we take competitions in a very serious way. The league cup was always opportunity for young player, and big part of the club.

"But on the night at Bradford we played many players of the first team."
