Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is determined to prise Klaas-Jan Huntelaar away from Schalke in January.

The Sunday Mirror says Arsenal's scouts have been told to line up senior players for the January window and they have watched Holland striker Huntelaar, 29, on three occasions in recent weeks.

Huntelaar's's contract with German club Schalke - who are in Arsenal's Champions League group - ends next June and they will listen to offers in the new year rather than lose him on a free.
