Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is determined to land Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in next month's winter market.
The Mirror says Wenger, who has been assured he has big money to spend, is also likely to bid for Schalke's Huntelaar in January, hoping the Dutch striker may be going cheap at around £6m as he is set to be out of contract at the end of the season.
Privately, Wenger accepts that he must strengthen a squad that has produced Arsenal's worst ever start to a Premier League season.
Huntelaar has emerged as his preferred striker option, while he is also in the market for a versatile defender and Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha.
