Arsenal are not giving up on winning the race for Barcelona teenage striker Tonny Sanabria.
The 17 year-old has decided to leave Barca in January, but despite Arsenal's interest, AS Roma are now regarded as favourites for his signature.
Sport says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is making a personal intervention, convincing the board to raise their contract offer to Sanabria's family and also reopening talks with his agent, Raul Verdu.
Gunners chief Richard Law is on standby to fly to Barcelona to help kick along negotiations if needed.
Wenger refuses to accept defeat in their battle for Sanabria, who along with Roma, also has a big offer on the table from PSG.
