Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is delighted Jack Wilshere is back for their clash with Tottenham.

The 20-year-old has served his one-match suspension for a red card at Manchester United and returns to the Arsenal squad for Saturday's local affair with Tottenham at Emirates Stadium.

"Jack arrived here at the age of nine years old and that means this game is in his heart, in his brain, for the whole season every year," said Wenger to arsenal.com.

"From the youth teams up, the rivalry exists."

Wilshere got another half-hour under his belt in midweek, coming off the bench as England lost 4-2 in Sweden. Wenger is happy with the midfielder's progress since he returned his injury lay-off.

"Yes of course [I am happy]," said the manager. "He had not played for 17 months and the fact that he just has got over the first three, four games without any setback is very important."
