Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart did not deserve a yellow card for celebrating his goal with fans yesterday.

Van der Vaart risked the wrath of ref Mike Dean by going to the crowd to celebrate.

However, Wenger defended the goalscorer on that front.

He said: "No, I'm not a fan of cards for that.

"I can understand it if he celebrates a goal like that. There has to be some spontaneous reaction to scoring."
