Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is confident talking down Sami Khedira's personal demands. The Daily Star Sunday says Wenger wants to make Real Madrid midfielder Khedira his second marquee signing of the summer after £35m Alexis Sanchez's arrival from Barcelona on Thursday.
Khedira's current £150,000-a-week wage demands, which would make him Arsenal's highest-paid player, are proving to be a stumbling block.
But Wenger believes he can persuade Khedira, 27, to lower what he is asking for and swap the Bernabeu for the Emirates.
Khedira only has 12 months left on his Madrid contract but he is still expected to cost more than £20m.
He is understood to have discussed life at Arsenal with Gunners stars and Germany pals Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski during the World Cup.
