Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Cesc Fabregas could handle the man-marking of Wigan's Paul Scharner for Saturday's 4-1 win.
"I dropped him deeper into midfield," said Wenger.
"You can either do two things in that situation. Push him up front to create more space behind him. Or deep in midfield. But the problem is that the ball doesn't come to him.
"I grew up with man-marking because it was near the German border and we were influenced by their game. It's difficult to know which is Cesc's best position because he likes to be at the heart of things. Perhaps the deeper role because he likes to pick up the ball and deliver long passes.
"However, he is very good in the hole because of the quality of his passing. I thought he was fantastic. He looks like he's getting stronger and stronger."
