Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger is ready to make a check on Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic. The Telegraph says Wenger has arrived for the World Cup in Brazil where he will narrow down his striking targets.
Wenger is understood to be in Sao Paulo, where Mandzukic and the Croatia squad are now ahead of their World Cup opener against the host nation.
Mandzukic cannot play against Brazil because he is suspended after being sent-off in the second leg of November's 2-0 aggregate play-off victory over Iceland.
But Wenger will use his presence in Brazil as a French television pundit to try to make progress in his search for at least one new frontman.
