Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists his young Gunners will shine against Olympiacos in the Champions League on Wednesday despite their 3-0 Carling Cup humiliation against Manchester City.

Arsenal have already won their group, but the Greeks need something to assure their place in the knockout stage.

Wenger confirmed: "It will be a similar team. When you are 17 or 18 you think you can play at this level.

"I think they can too, but it's important they recognise they are not completely ready and there are things you can get away with and things you can't.

"At that age they are impatient to play, but it's an important part of their education to realise they can't always do it at this level.

"This is a good opportunity for them to show me they can do better than they did against Manchester City. Olympiacos have something to play for so it's a proper test."
