Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has registered his interest in Valencia winger Juan Mata.
Valencia vice-president Javier Gomez and sporting director Braulio Vazquez are in London this week for talks with Arsenal over Carlos Vela.
Los Che are keen to take the Mexico international on-loan.
During the talks, Wenger is expected to enquire after attacking midfielder Mata, who only recently signed a new deal with Valencia.
The Spain international is rated in the £15 million class.
