Arsenal boss Wenger asks Cesc to stick around for two more years

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has urged Cesc Fabregas to remain with the club for at least another two years.

Wenger knows he will eventually lose Cesc back to Spain, with Barcelona and Real Madrid waiting eagerly to take the midfielder off the Gunners' hands.

The Daily Star says it is understood Wenger has asked his captain to stay for two more years - by which time the current team will have matured.

Jack Wilshere also will be expected, at 20, to be pushing to succeed Cesc at the fulcrum of Arsenal's midfield.
