Arsenal boss Wenger: Almunia my No1 - for now

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger plans to give fit-again goalkeeper Manuel Almunia an extended first team run.

Almunia was sidelined at first with a severe chest infection and then looked to have slipped behind Vito Mannone in the pecking order.

But Wenger says: "Usually it's better to have the goalkeeper position settled, because of the confidence factor.

"I've seen at some clubs who have two keepers of the same value, that it can cause problems.

"They play two games one keeper, two games the other keeper. In the end, they can both end up doing badly.

"To me, Manuel looks back to his best. Of course, he needs a few games to get used to playing again but I'm not worried about him."
