Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is agonising over whether to take a gamble on AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli. The London Evening Standard says Wenger is thought to harbour reservations about the 23-year-old's eccentric character following a turbulent spell with Manchester City but he is a long-term admirer of his ability.
The Gunners scouted Balotelli on several occasions last season with Wenger keen to keep tabs on his progress and it is believed that financial pressures are behind Milan's decision to listen to offers.
Milan are hopeful of generating interest from Monaco to push the price towards £30milllion but Balotelli is thought to be keen on a move back to the Premier League and any opening bid from Arsenal would be somewhat smaller.
