Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits blocking Nicklas Bendtner from moving away in the final days of the summer market.

Bendtner, 25, who has spent the last two seasons on loan, was on the verge of joining Crystal Palace.

But the Gunners boss said: "I wanted him to stay because I felt we were short up front."
