Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Karim Benzema is no longer a target for his club.
The Gunners have been linked with the French striker for much of the summer window but will no longer pursue him after he took to Twitter to say he will remain at 'home' with Real Madrid.
Following Monday night's 0-0 draw with Liverpool at the Emirates, Wenger spoke of his side's transfer targets, suggesting that there is no further chase for Benzema.
"That story [is dead] but it has always been created every week, again and again. We do not master that situation," said Wenger.
"When the player has a contract it's the club who owns the contract who decides that and I have said that many times.
"We want to master the situation of the players who are under contract with us.
"We had (Jack) Wilshere and (Danny) Welbeck out tonight, Alexis (Sanchez) is not completely at his best. We know that we can score goals and we will score goals again."
