Arsenal boss Emery admits Cech to be withdrawn after Newcastle win

Arsenal boss Unai Emery hints Petr Cech will be rested for Thursday's Europa League tie against Vorskla.

With plenty of focus on how he does with the ball at his feet, the Gunners goalkeeper kicked the ball straight out for a corner after a Shkodran Mustafi backpass in the first half at St James' Park.

Arsenal went on to to win the game 2-1 thanks to second half strikes from Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil.

But Ciaran Clark's late consolation means that Emery is still to oversee a clean sheet in his five matches in charge, all of which have seen him pick Cech in goal and leave Bernd Leno on the bench.

"We are going to change and use a lot of players for different competitions, but only thinking about the best performance for us to win on Thursday," he said.

"Every competition for me is about [doing as well as you can] and normally you use a different goalkeeper in those [other] competitions, but it's about giving [your best] performance."
