Arsenal boss: Clichy good enough for France

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has urged Gael Clichy not to lose any sleep over a call-up to the France squad.

"I would love him to [get called]," Wenger told arsenal.com. "But then at the same time I feel it probably best not to talk about it too much and let him get on quietly to play and improve. He will not be ignored.

"Gael deals well with impatience anyway. He is just focussed on working well in training and in the games. He tries to improve every time and that is the best way to deal with the situation.

"He is still so young, only 22. And anyway you only ever improve under one condition - that you get your focus and your concentration every day. That is something the young players have learned from the older generation we had here.

"The big players were always focussed from the first to the last minute. Gael is intelligent and he learnt from players like Dennis Bergkamp that you always have to work well every day."
