If David Beckham's loan move to AC Milan falls through Arsene Wenger would welcome the England star back to North London. The 33-year-old returned to England to train with Arsenal during the last MLS off-season to retain his fitness.

"I have not been in touch with him, and certainly not as a player for the club," said Wenger.

"But if he wants to be fit and practise, why not?

"We have Theo Walcott who plays in this position, and also Emmanuel Eboue, so we are not looking for a right midfielder."
