Arsenal are delighted with Blackburn's sale of David Bentley to Tottenham.

Bentley has joined Spurs for £15m, a fee which could rise to £17m.

But Arsenal are laughing all the way to the bank as wily boss Arsene Wenger insisted on a 50 per cent sell-on clause when he sold Bentley to Blackburn for around £2m.

An Emirates source told The Sun: "It is true that Arsenal get a large part of the fee for David Bentley.

"But Blackburn were quite happy to accept that as part of the deal when David signed."
