Arsenal have upped their bid for Everton defender Phil Jagielka.

The Daily Mail says Arsene Wenger will look to sign Jagielka before the deadline next Wednesday after making an improved £15m offer for the England defender, after Everton rejected an earlier £12m bid.

Everton boss David Moyes is refusing to budge on his £18m valuation as most of the money will be used to lower the club's debt and not be spent on players.
