Arsenal appear to have been beaten by Benfica for Argentina U20 striker Angel Di Maria.

The 19 year-old has been in London this week for talks with the Gunners, however, his club, Rosario Central, announced this morning that he had been sold to Benfica.

Both Di Maria and midfielder Andres Diaz have moved from Rosario Central to Benfica for a combined fee of £4 million. The pair are expected in Lisbon on Tuesday for their medical.
