Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to make a move for Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz.
The Arsenal manager has already scored over his rival by signing 17-year-old Cardiff midfielder Aaron Ramsey in a £5m deal.
Santa Cruz scored 23 goals for Blackburn last season after a bargain £3.5m move from Bayern Munich and figures on Ferguson's shopping list.
But Wenger fears Arsenal could lose top scorer Emmanuel Adebayor to AC Milan and has targeted the Paraguay striker.
