Arsenal have beaten Chelsea and Manchester United for Spanish teen Ignasi Miquel.

The 15 year-old Cornella centre-half will join the Gunners when he turns 16 in September, says the Mail on Sunday.

Miquel, who like Cesc Fabregas was once part of the Barcelona youth academy, visited Arsenal last weekend to check on his lodgings and the signing of the 6ft 2in defender demonstrates that Wenger will continue to nurture young talent rather than spend his £30million transfer fund.
