Arsenal to assess Arshavin but Rosicky and van Persie set for Tottenham

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club will assess Andrey Arshavin ahead of Saturday's derby clash with Tottenham.

The attacking midfielder played a full 90 minutes in Russia's friendly loss to Belgium on Wednesday but is not a certain starter for the Gunners but the news is much better for the likes of Tomas Rosicky and Robin van Persie who had slight niggles but seemed to pull up ok.

"We have to assess Arshavin, who has still to come back from Russia," Wenger said.

"Rosicky is coming in later too. He had a tight hamstring, but should be okay.

"Van Persie had 45 minutes, which was agreed. He needed that. We had someone at the game and he looked quite sharp."
