Arsenal made a transfer deadline day bid for Lille star Eden Hazard yesterday. France Football says Arsenal offered over €30 million for the Belgium international, but were knocked back by Lille.

Lille management were pleased with the bid tabled, but informed Arsenal intermediaries they could not consider it with so little time to sign a replacement.

Arsenal are now expected to try again for Hazard in January.
