Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has rubbished claims he needs to turn nasty to reach his potential.
Walcott has been accused of being too nice.
But he told the Daily Mail: "I think you can be nice off the pitch and . . . look at David Beckham. He's the perfect example.
"The nicest guy but someone who gets up from the tackles, puts in the deliveries. This season I've been going to the gym more. I don't want to slow myself down but if I got kicked when I was younger I probably would have stayed down.
"Now I get up. That's when a full back thinks, 'I'm going to have a torrid day'."
